The PTE test assesses a candidate’s abilities on four different parameters: Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening.
There are two modules of the PTE test:

PTE Band Score
The PTE score is machine-scored. The scoring is of two types:
- Partial Credit
- Correct or Incorrect
Partial Credit: For every correct response, partial credit is awarded. Points will be subtracted from the points awarded for correct responses for each incorrect response. Erroneous replies do not carry any marks.
Right or Wrong: The applicant will receive one point for each response that is answered correctly. A wrong response will not get you any points.
PTE Score Calculation:
The candidate’s performance in each section will determine their final score. For the total score, the PTE score calculators take the sum and average. Enabling Scores and Communicative Skills are the two main factors that affect the PTE score.
PTE Communicative Skills Score: Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are the components that go into this category. The skill has a score range of 10 to 90 points.
PTE Enabling Skills Score: Written discourse, oral fluency, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and pronunciation are all included in this category. The range of scores for enabling skill is from 10 to 90 points.
All scores under Enabling Skills are added, and the total is divided by six to get the overall PTE score. Together with the four communicative skills scores, this average is added. The total PTE score is determined by averaging these five components.

PTE Result
How to check the PTE Result?
The PTE results will be out within 5 business days from the actual test date. Candidates can access their PTE exam result online. Once the results are out, candidates will be notified via email. Once they receive this email, they can log in to the PTE Academic student account. The PTE exam certification is valid for two years from the actual test date. Students who wish to prove their eligibility post two years will have to retake the exam.
